About Me

My name is Carmen Vera.

I'm a world traveler who writes about her experiences around the world and the people I encounter. I am a proud author to two works: British Men Destroyed My Life: The Travels of an American Gypsy and a children's book, The Letter S. I am working on my 3rd book and 4th book which is set to release by October 2018. Stay tuned!

I am a vocalist with the love for music growing up. I am classically trained and have been singing for as long as I can remember. Music has always been a part of my life throughout my primary and upper education. I love being a musician and accompanying myself on the piano. It's always been my number one outlet and escape in my life. I always say: my favorite distraction. I am currently working on a few projects with my very talented guitarist, Marcus Chavez. We are looking to tour around Orange County and Los Angeles County by the end of this year. Kylie Brown is assisting me in an upcoming event. We can't wait to share our big plans for all upcoming performances.

I am familiar with acting and performing. I am no stranger to the art of drama and theater. I love being a part of Central Casting in Burbank, CA and doing work for them part time.

I am a very proud atheist who thinks separation of church and state is important. Atheism is a luxury that many of us cannot afford. We must speak against the evils of religion and learn to believe in ourselves instead of ancient bronze age fairy tales.

Recently, I have been able to make a dream of mine come true. I've just started designing print shirts and accessories. It gives me pure satisfaction and happiness to see my ideas come to life.

I consider myself an entrepreneur. I love investing and building my empire one day at a time through experiences and my finances.

I am a humanist. I had a very positive upbringing with a father who was more than a role model. He was my hero. He passed in 2012 because of Parkinson's disease. In his honor of his birthday each year, I launch charity projects to help those in need and to continue to share his compassion to the world.

All in all, I am a student in life--and that is never ending! When a mind is open, the world rushes in. I want to be a sponge that absorbs as much culture and knowledge. I seek to spread as much love and humor as possible. I want to be a light for humanity in that sense. Through obstacles in my past, I truly believe that everyone can be a light for humanity, even if it is a small one. It's all about what you bring to the table.

There are so many things in life that are mediocre. I personally believe that your career shouldn't be one of them. Do all the things you love and don't take no for an answer. Your happiness is much more rewarding above any and all else.

Yours,
